MESSAGE FROM JEANNIE VOGT

Dear Sponsors and volunteer members,

I went to the Thai Villages again in July to check the schools that have received the money to do the projects
the schools have requested in January when I was there with our Japanese Volunteers.
Click to see our school's list

I would like to tell you that we now have 28 schools in Surin that belong to our Group, 10 schools in
Burirum and 28 schools in Loei. These schools are entitled to receive the scholarships for their students.
Two students from these schools will receive the scholarship to continue their study in Junior High for
three years. So 132 new students of grade 6 will receive scholarships each year, including Junior 2 and
Junior 3 so we will have to give 396 scholarship every year not including the students who continue
their study in senior high and colleges and universities.

Thank you for your sponsorship of these children. However, there are still many students who do not yet
have sponsors. I and our volunteer members are working very hard to find sponsors for them.

I would like to tell you about my recent trip to the villages. This year Thailand has been affected with
heavy rain especially in Northeastern part and Southern part of Thailand. In one village there were 190
people lost their lives and many lost their home because of floods and landslides. My villages in Loei,
Surin and Burirum are lucky that nobody died but most of the rice fields were badly damaged.
So this year the poor farmers will not have satisfactory crops.

Thanking you again for your continuous help for these poor children. May God bless and your family.

Jeannie (Chintana) Vogt

SPONSOR WANTED

You can help a poor Thai student go to junior high school for 6,000yen a year. With 6,000 yen,
children can buy school uniforms, stationery and other materials necessary for school. The scholarship
money is supervised by the teachers and children cannot use the money without teachers' permission.
The scholarship will be given to the children who want to go on to junior high school but whose parents
cannot afford the expense of sending them to school. Every year, two recipients will be recommended
by the principals of the 58 elementary schools that we are supporting. While you sponsor a child, he or
she will write to you a few times a year, and the letters will be translated by volunteers and sent to you.
More than 500 children received this scholarship to make their dream to have education come true.
