Dear Sponsors,

Hi, Greeting from Thailand.  I am very happy to tell you that this year our Kongtun Chintana Vogt has finally been registered to be Moonnithi Chintana Vogt which is registered to the Interior Ministry Office. We went to give the scholarships to the students from January 10 to 15, 2011.

Our members who went were Hiroko Tsukuda, Shizuyo Murata, Keiko Okuno, Iimura, Sasipote Tangtiang. Midori Nishizawa, and we also had 4 middle school students from Canadian Academy who went with us. They are David, Aili, Maiko and Matthew.

The trip was successful and the scholarship ceremony went very smoothly. We have given the scholarship to the following students:-

This year the number of students has increased by 11 students (last year 651 students). Mr. Rob Smailes , Mrs, Midori Nishizawa and Canadian Academy Middle School students have worked very hard to raise funds for the Jeannie Vogt Scholarship Project.  The MS students and the teachers have raised and donated Yen 2,060,920 to us this year. For the individual sponsors (teachers and students) the amount of money is 872,000 Yen which is double than last year.  Therefore almost all of our senior high students can continue their studies.

We have given the Sport Equipment to 65 schools as always and our schools are able to do their schools’ projects.

Helping Thai children benefits our own students as well. Thai students who strive to do their best encourage CA students to challenge themselves to their potential. This project also helps our students develop their self-esteem and confidence. Students often think that they have to wait until they become adults to contribute to the society, but this project makes them aware that they can make a difference to someone’s life, someone their own age, by providing a 6,000 yen scholarship a year per student. This amount is equivalent to a CA student saving 500 yen by not buying five soft drinks a month.

The four CA students who traveled with me to Thailand were very surprised to know that Jeannie started this projecttwenty-two years ago, long before they were born. They were convinced that CA should continue efforts to support Thai children. Read the following quotes from these students.
