Jeannie Vogt in the kitchen

I had my cooking classes for 2 days at my friend's house Mrs. Michiko Fukui. We had about 40 students
in 2 days. Many students have been studied with me before. I usualy taught four dishes for each classe.
The recipes are quite simple and not too diffcult to make and most dishes are the most popular Thai dishes.
The menus are Tom yam Kung (Sour prawn soup), Yam Wun Sen (Glass noodle salad),
Gaeng Keawwaan Gai (Green curry chicken), Sangkhaya Fakthong (Pumpkin Custard). It was successful.
The students seem to enjoy learning and eating the food after my class. I will have my classes again at Mrs.
Fukui's house and at Mrs. Ann Maria Leonhardt's home.

Helping Thai children benefits our own students as well. Thai students who strive to do their best encourage CA students to challenge themselves to their potential. This project also helps our students develop their self-esteem and confidence. Students often think that they have to wait until they become adults to contribute to the society, but this project makes them aware that they can make a difference to someone’s life, someone their own age, by providing a 6,000 yen scholarship a year per student. This amount is equivalent to a CA student saving 500 yen by not buying five soft drinks a month.

The four CA students who traveled with me to Thailand were very surprised to know that Jeannie started this projecttwenty-two years ago, long before they were born. They were convinced that CA should continue efforts to support Thai children. Read the following quotes from these students.
